Ankylosing spondylitis is rare inflammatory condition of joints also known as ‘Bechterew disease’. Their is damage to the articular surfaces of the joint and in chronic cases it lead to fusing of vertebrae called as bamboo spine, movement is completely lost in this condition.The Etiology is known but it has been noticed that people having gene HLA-B27 are more prone to get caught with this disease but not all having this gene have Ankylosing Spondylitis. Mostly symptoms starts fron sacro iliac joint,patient feels morning stiffness that further invovles various segments of spine.Movement got restricted and patient can experience stiffness and pain around spine.
